Despite the odds firmly against them going into the games last night, Tottenham have achieved what many thought was impossible by qualifying for the Champions League knockout phase. A draw in Barcelona coupled with a draw for Inter Milan against PSV Eindhoven was enough for Spurs to get through, and with the way they played last night in Barcelona, in what was a hugely pressured situation for them deserves a ton of credit. If you want to be critical about Tottenham last night, then they simply wasted too many opportunities, had they not won the game and needed to win it, then they would have only had themselves to blame after the chances they missed.

On what was always going to be a tough night for them, things were made worse when they conceded an early goal against Barca, but their heads did not drop. This wasn't the strongest Barcelona team on the field, they decided to rest a couple of their key names, but that shouldn't be a reason to take anything away from Spurs. They are a team known for bottling it from time to time, but last night they showed incredible bottle, team spirit and togetherness to get the job done in a tough environment and at the expense of Inter Milan, it is Tottenham who will be in the draw for the Champions League knockout phase.

After a big night, the dust has settled and Tottenham are quoted at 25/1 to win the Champions League after showing their very best side last night. It was an impressive result for them, and fans should be hopeful that we can see that from them in the next round, perhaps now we are about to see the best of Tottenham in the Champions League. Their opponents last night, Barcelona, had already qualified for the next round before their game and they are priced up at 9/2 to win the Champions League, which makes them second favourites behind Manchester City who are 3/1.
