West Brom have finally unveiled their new manager. They have given the job to former Croatia and West Ham boss Slavan Bilic, and he has signed a two year deal at The Hawthorns. Bilic hasn't managed in England since he was sacked by West Ham back in 2017 and he comes in looking to get the club back into the Premier League.

West Brom sacked Darren Moore in March despite West Brom being in 4th at the time but chose not to bring in a new manager to guide them through until the end of the season. Instead, coach Jimmy Shan took over and ensured they finished in the playoffs but they were beaten by the team that would go on to win it, Aston Villa. More recently we have seen Bilic be in charge of Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, although that job only lasted five months.

He now returns to England where he has both played and managed in the Premier League. The job in front of him is a simple one, to get West Brom back up there, where they believe they belong. That won't be easy though, as it is one of the most competitive leagues in the world and getting out is something that a large number of teams have ambitions of, but few actually succeed in doing it.

After the news of Bilic signing with the club, the bookmakers have priced West Brom at 10/1 to win the Championship next season, and 3/1 to gain promotion to the Premier League by any means. He is likely to be busy this summer, and it will be interesting to see how much the board back him with funds to spend.
