Premier League Fixtures Announced for 2019/20 Season
Although it only feels like a short while since the end of the Premier League season, a sign that we are heading towards a new season was made public today. The league revealed the fixtures for the 2019/20 season, to get everyone excited again that football will be back in around two months. This is always a big moment for fans, and many will have spent the day working out when their team takes on their rivals, when they face the big boys and what away trips look possible.
Kicking us off for the new season is a Friday night game, with Liverpool hosting one of the newly promoted teams Norwich. Another newly promoted team Aston Villa also face a top side when they travel to Tottenham a day later, another game that will be live on TV. The third promoted club have a more subdued start as Sheffield United travel down to the south coast to take on Bournemouth.
As for those expected to be at the top of the table, the current champions Manchester City will travel away to West Ham on the opening day of the season in the early televised kick off. Rounding things off in the final game of the weekend on Sunday we will see a big clash between Manchester United and Chelsea, with both clubs having top four aspirations this season.
We have two months to wait until the Premier League is back, but betting is already available for the forthcoming season. Manchester City are the 4/6 favourites to retain their title for a third straight year, while the team who pushed them close last season, and recent Champions League winners, Liverpool, are the second favourites behind them at 5/2.
