Norwich Win to Cut Gap at the Top of the Championship to One Point
After a good weekend, Norwich City are just one point off the top of the Championship table. The Canaries won 3-1 on Friday night against Birmingham to put the pressure on top club Leeds and they were unable to answer back in their game at Stoke on Saturday. That eventually ended 2-1 to Stoke, preventing Leeds from maintaining their four point cushion at the top and cutting it to just one.
Norwich had not won in four games prior to their victory on Friday night, so this was a very welcome three points and they will now be looking to kick on and use the momentum from that win to push them even further. It hasn't been great for Leeds either, they have now lost three of their last four games as both teams struggle to really take hold of the position at the top of the table and dominate proceedings.
The Premier League is within touching distance for both of these teams right now, and this is where the big tests will come for them. Can they handle the pressure and take control, or will we see these two struggle to maintain their form as the nerves kick in?
The Championship continues next weekend, and it would be no surprise to see even more twists and turns. The game of the week involves Norwich and they take on third club Sheffield United at Carrow Road, a simply huge occasions for both teams. Norwich are priced up as the favourites at 7/5, while Sheffield United are 2/1 in what is going to be a great clash. Leeds have an easier task, they travel to struggling Rotherham and they are 8/13 to win the game, with their hosts as big as 24/5 to take three points.
