Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made his first signing as Manchester United boss, bringing winger Daniel James to the club from Swansea. The deal has been expected to go through for a while now, but has finally been confirmed by both clubs, with a transfer fee of £15 million.

The 21 year old has signed a five year deal at the club and while Solskjaer will be hoping the youngster can make an impact next season, it is the future where United are excited as far as this player goes. James came through the academy ranks at Swansea, but broke into the first team last season. He made 38 appearances for them last season, scoring five goals. Plenty would have been expected from him this season had he stayed with them, but he hasn't and he now has to prove himself capable of being a player in the Premier League.

This is a big moment for the player, who was incredibly emotional when announcing the move. He was happy to share the moment with his family, although mentioned the sadness of not being able to share it with his father, who died suddenly last month.

It is expected that United will continue to be in the market for new players, and fans will be hoping they bring in both more players, and better players who can contribute straight away. The top four is their aim, and the bookmakers make them evens to get their this season, despite finishing down in 6th last season.
