Manchester City were beaten at Chelsea last weekend, losing their first Premier League game of the season to fall a point behind Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table. They were beaten 2-0 by The Blues in a tough day for them and after progressing in the Champions League during midweek, they now return to league action looking to get back to winning ways. They are the first team to play on Saturday which means they could move back to the top of the table, and add a little bit more pressure to Liverpool's game against Manchester United which takes place on Sunday.

After dominating the league last season, the way things stand right now Manchester City are going to have a battle on. Liverpool have emerged as their main challenger, and it would be no surprise to see these two teams battle it out for the Premier League title for many years to come. Both have good managers, both have good players and both are hungry for success, the rest may struggle to keep up with these two. Small victories are what will win the league title eventually, and by getting back to winning ways straight away here, Manchester City will pick up a small win on Saturday.

The bookmakers think that Manchester City will win on Saturday, and they are the strong 1/5 favourites to pick up three points against Everton. The Toffees are priced up at 12/1 for their trip to the Etihad Stadium, while the draw is available at 6/1. We saw Everton perform with credit when they travelled to face Liverpool and although they didn't get the result they wanted, the performance was very good and they will be hoping for more of the same here in this one.
