Manchester City go Top with Win at Everton
Manchester City are back at the top of the Premier League table, albeit only on goal difference, but that won't mind to them as they took a huge step forward in terms of momentum and confidence. City won 2-0 away at Everton last night, and although they have now played one more game than Liverpool because of that, they have the psychological edge of being at the top, with Liverpool in behind them having to chase and catch them.
It was a comfortable evening for City, who rarely looked in trouble and eventually ran out 2-0 winners of the game, with a goal in first half stoppage time and a goal in second half stoppage time. The is the first time that City have been on top of the league since December 15, and although Liverpool will eventually have a game in hand to turn that around, it is always better to have points in the bag and be in control, especially when the pressure is on.
All eye will be on Liverpool now to see how they can respond in what won't be an easy game against Bournemouth at the weekend. Although they are at home here, we saw a laboured performance from Liverpool on Monday night against West Ham, and not much better last week against Leicester. Are they becoming tired? Do they have the experience and fight in them when the going gets tough? We will find out over the coming weeks.

As far as Manchester City goes, a big game awaits them on Sunday afternoon when they face Chelsea at home. They will already know Liverpool's result from the weekend as The Reds play on Saturday afternoon, and that will have a factor on the game. Manchester City are priced up as the 1/2 favourites for the game against Chelsea, while the away side can be backed at 11/2 to do Liverpool a huge favour.
