Liverpool look to be in full control of their Champions League tie against Porto, with a 2-0 lead from the first leg in the bag ahead of their trip to Portugal next week. For most of the game, Liverpool were in command of things, with Porto having few chances of note. Towards the end the Portuguese side did have a couple more chances and looked dangerous, and this is something that Liverpool will have to guard against when they travel over.

Ahead of the tie, many believed that this was a very good draw for Liverpool and that they would be able to show their dominance over their opponents. That was certainly the case in the first half, when Liverpool began well, much to the delight of the home crowd. The second half was not as good, although still a fairly good display and even if Liverpool play like that in the second leg, you would still fancy them to qualify.

While they are in control right now, a goal changes everything. An away goal for Liverpool would seal the tie, while one early for Porto would certainly bring them back into the tie. Things are looking good right now, but Liverpool need to go into the tie knowing that it is not over, and they have to put in other solid performance.

The bookmakers have priced up the second leg games already, and after their win in the first leg, Liverpool are favourites to win again in Portugal. They are priced up at 21/20 to win the second leg, with the home team Porto priced up at 14/5 and the draw available at 12/5, something that would also see Liverpool through.
