Liverpool Beat Burnley to Remain One Point off City
In a strange game at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, Liverpool eventually came out 4-2 winners to stay just one point behind leaders Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. However, it wasn't without a scare for them, and after just six minutes they went behind. Despite that, they did look the better side and eventually they pull themselves level, and not long after that they went ahead.
The game ended in style too, with Burnley pulling a goal back to make it 3-2 and give Liverpool some last minute nerves, but they soon went when Sadio Mane scored to restore their two goal lead and finish the game 4-2.
We have just eight games to go in the Premier League title race, and it looks as though we are going down to the wire. With Tottenham dropping away in recent weeks we are left with just two teams, Liverpool and Manchester City. We have seen Liverpool struggle under pressure recently, and they have drawn some games as a result, but there was no sign of that yesterday afternoon. We know both teams are of a very high quality, but which one will be able to get to the finishing line and lift the title? Right now, Manchester City are in the driving seat to do that.
With the FA Cup next week, and internationals the week after, Manchester City are now not in Premier League action until March 30th. Liverpool do play next weekend though, with a trip to lowly Fulham and a perfect chance for them to go to the top of the league. Liverpool are priced up at 27/100 to win that game, with Fulham available at a huge 10/1 to cause a massive upset, and dent Liverpool's title bid.
