Leicester Hoping to Continue Bright Start Under Rodgers

Leicester have come to life under Brendan Rodgers, and they head into their game on Friday night with a four game winning run. They host Newcastle, who are at the wrong end of the table right now as they look to make it five, and you certainly wouldn't bet against them doing that. This has been a good run under Rodgers, and a clear sign of what the future looks like, or at least that is what their fans will be hoping.

While the start of the season wasn't the best for Leicester, it was by no means a disaster. To change managers showed real ambition, and they are now up in 7th under Rodgers, showing them to be the best team outside of the traditional top six. With a full summer under him to evaluate things properly and sign any players he wants to strengthen the squad, there is a small chance Leicester could sneak into the top six next year with a bit of luck.

Their opponents in this one are Newcastle, who are probably safe this season but that is far from confirmed right now. They would need a bad run coupled with an upturn in form for those below them, and the two things together are unlikely to happen. They would love another win to make things look better, although that doesn't look as though it'll come in this tough game.

Leicester are strong odds on favourites to win this game and it is no surprise to see that. They are priced up at 13/20 to take all three points and move their winning run up to five games as they look to cement 7th position. Three points would pretty much guarantee safety for Newcastle, and they are available at 9/2 to take them back up north with them.
