A couple of days after selling Jack Clarke, but managing to keep hold of him for the upcoming season, Leeds gave themselves another big boost ahead of the new season, this time with a new signing. They have agreed a deal with Wolves to bring Helder Costa to the club on a loan deal that will become a permanent one at the end of next season.

We all saw how close Leeds came to promotion last season, and they don't need to add too much to their squad to be involved again, if anything at all. However, what they do bring in with Costa will help them in two ways. Of course he is a very talented player, and his attacking play and goals will help the team next season. Something else he brings, which could be far more important is experience.

Costa was part of the Wolves squad that were promoted to the Premier League two seasons ago, and his experience in that situation is something that Leeds had very little of last season. Their failure towards the end will help those who were with them, but bringing in Costa gives them a quality player who has experienced the feeling of being promoted from the Championship to the Premier League.

Leeds continue to be favourites for promotion in the Championship, and also favourites to win the league overall. They are priced up at 9/2 to win the league next season and as short as 13/8 to go one better than last season and finally get promoted back up into the Premier League.
