League Leaders Sheffield United Head to Forest for Game of the Week
Sheffield United head to Nottingham Forest for the game of the week in the Championship, and it looks as though it should be a cracker. United are top of the league, and after a win last weekend they now have a two point cushion. Forest are in 7th, just outside of the playoffs, although they are only two points back and could break into the top six if things go their way this weekend.
The start to the season has been very impressive from Sheffield United, and after a solid return to the Championship last year, they have clearly kicked on and make big strides this season. Defensively they look a lot better, and with the goals of Billy Sharp still coming on a regular basis, they look competitive at both ends of the field. While they were not among the favourites for promotion before the start of the season, based on what we have seen from them so far they certainly deserve to be involved in discussions.
Forest come into this game after being dumped out of the Carabao Cup by League One Burton. They will be looking to bounce back from that, and will no doubt see it as a missed opportunity. The league is their main focus, and gettting into a playoff spot will be something they want to do over the next few weeks. The middle of the table is tight though at the moment, they are just one point ahead of 12th position so can't afford to go on a bad run.
Sheffield United are the favourites for this one, which is no surprise as they go into the weekend as league leaders. The bookmakers are struggling to split all three possible outcomes though, there is nothing between them. United are priced up at 7/5, Forest are priced up at 2/1 and the draw is available at 23/10. This looks sure to be a close, entertaining game of football, will Sheffield United still be top of the table? Can Nottingham Forest get into the playoffs?
