Five Star England Far Too Strong for Montenegro
Four days and two impressive performances from the England national team during the international break. After outclassing the Czech Republic at home on Friday night, England went to Montenegro and did exactly the same out there. They did go behind in this game, completely against the run of play, but they didn't panic and cruised to victory in the end, scoring five goals to win the game 5-1.
This was a young England team, with both Callum Hudson-Odoi and Declan Rice picking up their first starts for their country, with Hudson-Odoi in particular having an impressive game out on the wing and getting involved in a lot of England's build up play. Ross Barkley and Raheem Sterling ran the show for the Three Lions, and both got on the scoresheet with Sterling scoring once and Barkley finding the net twice.
All in all it was a comfortable night for England once more, and there is no doubt that they are clearly the best team in this group, and should qualify with ease. They have a while to wait now until their next qualifying game though, as they play in the Nations League this summer, with a semi final against Holland up first before a potential final.
After their performances recently, it is no surprise to see England as the joint favourites for the Nations League. They are priced up at 7/4 to win the first ever edition of this competition, alongside hosts Portugal. Behind them, Holland are priced up at 10/3, while Switzerland are the outsiders at 6/1.
