England begin their qualification group for the 2020 European Championships on Friday night when they host the Czech Republic. The group they have to navigate is a pretty straight forward one and not only will they be expected to qualify for the championships but they are expected to win the group comfortably. The Czechs are their toughest opponent on paper, but they are not the force of old, and shouldn't trouble England, especially at home.

During the middle of this campaign, England will break off to play in the Nations League finals in Portugal. They have a good chance of winning that, and the players will no doubt be excited about participating in the first finals event for that competition. They cannot let that distract them from their Euro 2020 games though, which come up first. They have to remain professional and do a job over the next few days, and with places up for grabs there should be little need for encouragement from manager Gareth Southgate.

The manager has again turned to youth, with the additions on Callum Hudson-Odoi and Declan Rice to the squad for these games. He is constantly on the lookout for the next up and coming talent, keeping everyone in the squad on their toes. These two may not see the field on Friday night, but with a trip to Montenegro on Monday that could be their chance to show what they have to offer the senior squad.

As you would expect, England are strong favourites to beat the Czech Republic on Friday night and they are priced up at 1/4. The Czechs are not the force of old, and will more than likely struggle to contain England in this one, although if you do think they can cause an upset then they are available to back at 12/1 to win this game and give England something to think about.
