Chelsea Target Callum Wilson as Morata Set to Leave
Alvaro Morata's future at Chelsea appears to be limited and it is highly likely that he will leave during this transfer window. However, his club won't let him leave until they have a replacement for him, and it looks as though their number one target to be that replacement is Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson. He has recently broken through into the England team after a good spell for Bournemouth which has seen him score nine goals so far this season.
Morata has struggled at Chelsea, scoring just five times but alongside that, he has really struggled to get to grips with the new system that boss Maurizio Sarri has implemented since arriving in the summer. Their way of playing doesn't seem to suit his style of play, but it does look as though Wilson will like it, and being in a better team should see him score even more goals than what he has done already.
The potential move here must excite Wilson, and while he may be happy at Bournemouth, there is no doubt the move would be a good one for his career. With players like Eden Hazard and Willian creating for him and playing alongside him, he should get a lot more opportunities with The Blue than he does at Bournemouth. That should be more than enough to make him a regular 20+ goals per season striker, exactly what Chelsea need in their team.
The feeling here is that for Chelsea to allow Morata to leave the club, they will need Wilson in the bag so expect to see movement shortly between them and Bournemouth. This weekend both clubs are in action, with Chelsea playing first on Saturday evening when they host Newcastle. They are the strong 2/9 favourites to win that game, with their opponents available at a huge 14/1. Bournemouth play a day later on Sunday, they are away at Everton and priced up at 18/5 to get the win, with The Toffees priced up at 3/4 to take three points.
