The early pace setters in the Championship, Leeds and Middlesbrough both failed to win their home games this weekend and while they remain top of the table, it has allowed the chasing pack to catch them. Birmingham winning away at Leeds was the shock of the weekend in the Championship, with Garry Monk's Blues picking up their first win in nine away at the league leaders. Middlesbrough missed their chance to go top of the table after being held to a 0-0 draw at home to Swansea.

Below the front two, we saw West Brom, Sheffield United, Wigan and Derby all pick up three points and those four are currently occupying the four playoff spots in the division. Just two points separate Leeds at the top from Derby in 6th place, and everything is to play for even at this early stage as the battle for positioning begins to take shape. Both Leeds and Middlesbrough have won just two of their last five games after setting the early pace, and should that continue it is only a matter of time before they are overtaken by one or more of the chasing pack.

It's a big weekend of action next weekend in the Championship as the top six all travel away from home in what looks set to be an intriguing weekend. League leaders Leeds kick things off on Friday night with an away trip to local rivals Sheffield Wednesday, a game which they are 13/10 favourites to win, with the home side at 21/10. Anything less than a victory at Hillsborough would give the chasing five a chance to overtake them in the standings when they all play on Saturday.

Middlebrough have the short trip to Hull and they are 11/10 to win that one, while West Brom arre 6/5 to win away at bottom of the table Preston. Sheffield United and Derby face clubs who are also struggling, with The Blades heading to Millwall, where they are 13/10 to win and Derby go to Bolton where they are 19/20 to pick up three points. Rounding off the big games are Wigan, who look to have the toughest game of all the top six, they travel to Norwich and are 5/2.
