After Leeds and Middlesbrough took early charge of the Championship, it is now the turn of Sheffield United to lead the league. They go into this weekend with a one point advantage over second placed West Brom, and will be looking to remain on top after the weekend's play. United will know what they need to do to stay on top spot, their game against Derby on Saturday evening is the final game of the weekend in the Championship, so everyone else will have made their moves.

West Brom, Leeds and Middlesbrough all have the chance to leapfrog United before they play on Saturday, something that would certainly add a little more pressure to their game against Derby. This won't be an easy task regardless of what happens elsewhere, Derby have started well under new boss Frank Lampard and they go into the weekend in 8th, just one point away from a playoff spot, something that they will have on their mind this weekend.

There is no doubt Sheffield United will be confident going into their game against Derby, they have won their last four games and have a total of eight wins from 12 games so far in the Championship. Despite that, the bookmakers do not make them favourites here, although there is very little to choose between the two contenders. United are priced up at 17/10 to take all three points home from Derby tomorrow. The Rams started the season well but they have won just one of their last five games, although a few of those have been draws to keep their points total ticking. They are slight favourites at 8/5 to take all three points, something that could move them into the playoff spots if other results go their way. If you think these two will cancel each other out then the draw is available at 23/10, and with Derby drawing their last two games that looks to be a realistic possibility.
