England begin what they hope will be a successful trip to Portugal, culminating in them winning the Nations League. This is a new tournament, and it is highly unlikely to ever get the same kind of attention that the European Championships or World Cup does, but it offers a young team like England a vital chance to create a winning mentality in the team.

While this is a competition that England are going to take very seriously, everything about this team right now is focused on the Euro 2020 tournament next summer. However, what this tournament does is offer them the chance to taste winning a competition together and lifting a trophy. A few have experienced it with their club, but doing it on the international stage is a completely different experience.

We often see those with experience of winning do well at big tournaments and it is clear to see why. A win here would certainly enhance the credentials of this England team, and being just one summer before, by the time we get to Euro 2020, the victory would remain fresh in the mind for the players.

England take on the Netherlands tonight for a place in Sunday's final. The bookmakers make them favourites at 7/5 to win the game in 90 minutes. The Netherlands are on their way back, and they are priced up at 2/1 while the draw in 90 minutes can be backed at 11/5
