Barcelona Waste Numerous Chances against Lyon

Barcelona will return home for the second leg of their game against Lyon with the game level and that gives them the upper hand, and they are now strong favourites to qualify for the next round. However, they missed a whole host of chances last night and had they taken some of those, like they normally would with the clinical finishers they have in their team, then this tie could pretty much have been over before that game at the Nou Camp.

The Spanish side had 25 shots in the game that finished 0-0, and should really have been heading home with a lead. Lyon had a couple of chances of their own, and could have scored was it not for a great tip over the bar from Marc-Andre ter Stegen. That really would have rubbed salt into the wounds of Barcelona, and would have made the second leg a whole lot more interesting.

The second leg should be an easier task for Barcelona, but last night would have been easy had they taken their chances. That is something they are usually known for, and they have a whole host of top quality players who can put the ball in the back of the net. They have to do that in the second leg, and assuming they find their shooting boots before that game, the tie should still comfortably go the way of the Spanish side.

Despite a draw last night, Barcelona are heavy favourites to take the second leg and they are priced up at 24/100 to win that game in 90 minutes. Home soil should  be enough to do that, but those looking for an upset should note that Lyon are priced up at 12/1 to win the game in 90 minutes, and 3/1 to qualify for the next round.
