We saw the Champions League last eight confirmed last night and Barcelona were one of the two teams to make it through on the final night of action from the last 16 round. They drew 0-0 away in Lyon which gave them the upper hand in the tie, and they showed that by coming home and winning the second leg 5-1 to cruise into the quarter finals.

This was Barcelona at close to their best, they love to play at home at attack teams, and that is exactly what they did. They continued to score, and really sent out a message to the other teams left in this competition that they can score plenty of goals when playing at home. Even if they go away and lose a game, you would still fancy them to go out and score at home, and turn around the deficit.

Barcelona are hunting a treble this season, with the domestic cup and league titles within their reach. They are the only Spanish club left in the last eight, which is a bit of a surprise, with both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid being knocked out at the last 16 stage. The hopes of Spain all now rest on the shoulders of Barcelona, and based on what they did to Lyon last night, they are going to be formidable opposition for anyone.

Barcelona are the 10/3 second favourites to lift the Champions League trophy, behind Manchester City who are priced up at 9/4. Juventus are the third favourites for the competition, priced up at 4/1 and all eyes will now be on the draw to see who faces who in the last eight.
