In what looked to be a fantastic and very close Champions League tie going into the games this week, Atletico Madrid have a valuable two goal lead to take into the second leg in Italy with the. The Spanish club needed something as they were the home team last night, and they have come away with two goals, and not conceding, which means Juve don't have an away goal to help them should it come to that.

Two goals in five minutes towards the end of the game was enough for them to take the win, and overall based on the play they deserved to take the game. They were denied both a penalty and a goal by the VAR system before they took the lead, and had other chances to score too. Cristiano Ronaldo had the best chance of the game for Juve from a free kick, but that was saved and the Italian club failed to score.

The game has put a huge dent in the chances of Juventus winning the competition, and it is going to need a special performance at home to overturn the score line. In their favour is the fact that they have a brilliant world class player in Cristiano Ronaldo, who thrives on the big stage and when his team needs him. They need something from him, and others, if they are to make it through to the quarter finals and avoid disappointment.

While the bookmakers struggled to split the teams in the first leg, they have priced up Juventus as the favourites for the second leg back in Italy. They are priced up at 13/20 to win the game in 90 minutes, while Atletico Madrid can be backed at 9/2. A draw would also see the Spanish side through, and that is available to back at 11/4
