Arsenal and Chelsea Reach Europa League Semi Finals
The dream of an all-English Europa League final is still on as both Arsenal and Chelsea progressed to the semi finals of the competition last night. There is no doubt that Arsenal looked the better of the two teams, they were very impressive in both legs of their tie against Napoli, while Chelsea laboured to victory over Slavia Prague at Stamford Bridge.
The semi finals have already been confirmed, so Arsenal will face Valencia in their tie, with Chelsea taking on German side Frankfurt in their last four tie. Both English teams are favourites to win their individual games, meaning the chances of an all-English final are strong, and if we don't get that then it does look as though at least one English side will get through.
A special mention here must go to Arsenal, who were very impressive in their game against Napoli, and deserve full credit in both legs for what they did. They played very well at home to take control of the tie, and took a valuable 2-0 lead to Italy with them. Then, when everyone was expecting them to have a very tough and challenging second leg, they controlled the game, never looked in trouble and won 1-0. This was impressive stuff from the Gunners.

Despite their impressive performance in the last round, Arsenal are still not favourites to win the Europa League. Chelsea still hold onto that title, although they could have done more to show that in their game against Slavia Prague. Chelsea are 5/4 to win the Europa League, with Arsenal in behind at 9/4 showing that the bookmakers clearly think the trophy is coming back to England.
