World Snooker - Dafabet Masters 2018 betting preview, tips and predictions
The 2018 Dafabet Masters is a professional non-ranking snooker tournament which will take place between 14-21 January 2018 at Alexandra Palace in North London, England. The Dafabet Masters makes up snooker’s Triple Crown, which is a collective term used for the three most important snooker tournaments: the World Championship, the UK Championship and the Masters. Due to the fact that is a non-ranking event, the Masters consists of 16 players, who are usually invited due to their position in the World rankings at the time.
Steve Davis, Alex Higgins, Terry Griffiths, Stephen Hendry, Mark Williams, Neil Robertson, Mark Selby, Shaun Murphy and Ronnie O’Sullivan are the ten players who have won all Triple Crown events at least once.
The 2018 Dafabet Masters will be the 44th staging of the Masters, a tournament which began in 1975 and has always been held in London, although the venue switched to Alexandra Palace from Wembley in 2012.
Ronnie O’Sullivan is the reigning champions after he beat Joe Perry 10-7 in the 2017 final. Meanwhile, 2012 Masters Champion Neil Robertson is one of the biggest absentees as he didn’t manage to maintain his top 16 place at the cut off point at the UK Championship.

Bettors need to understand player form, injuries, head-to-head results, etc. In addition, you need to be aware that certain players may struggle in specific formats, so you need to research the tournament format. All these information will not guarantee you a profit but will increase your chance to pick a winning bet.
As in every sport, there are a number of markets to bet on snooker. Bettors can mix up their bets with a variety of different betting formats, although it depends from bookmaker to bookmaker.
1x2 Snooker Betting or the Winning market:
This is the most common market and the easiest way for a bettor to understand the cost of a bet. This market allows you to place a bet on a player who will win the match.
Snooker Frame Handicap Betting:
The Handicap market is similar to the Handicap used in other sports like football, tennis, basketball, handball etc. This market occurs when one player is favoured over his opponents. Bookies offer a handicap of frames in order to level the playing field. These frames offered by the bookmakers are then added to the game’s final score, and the winner is the player that covers these additions.
Snooker Total Legs Betting:
This market allows the bettor to place a bet on whether the total number of frames by both players involved in the game will be over or under the value set by the bookmaker.
Outright Winner Market Snooker Betting:
Most bookmakers offer snooker futures, which allows the punter to bet on the outright winner of a major tournament. Once the draw has been made, the punter have the opportunity to predict which player will win a tournament, or to anticipate route of each player and check who offers the best value.
