Chelsea Football Club have today recalled Nathan Ake from his loan deal at Bournemouth.

Nathan Ake enjoyed some good moments during his time on the South Coast, scoring three goals in just twelve games from the fullback position. He became a regular starter for Eddie Howe’s side, and there is no doubt that they will be gutted to have lost him half way through the campaign.

Nathan Ake was left out of the Bournemouth squad on the weekend as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat against Millwall in the FA Cup.

Chelsea boss Conte hinted that they were looking to recall the full-back, with Bournemouth manager stating it would be a ‘big blow’ if they were to lose the player.

Bournemouth confirmed that Nathan Ake has re-joined Chelsea, in this statement on their website:

‘Ake has started the last eight games he has been eligible for, but Chelsea have activated an option to recall him during the opening weeks of January, and the 21-year-old will return to Stamford Bridge immediately.’

‘AFC Bournemouth would like to thank Nathan for his efforts over the past seven months and wish him well for the future.’

Nathan Ake will now be hoping that this is his time to shine. Over the past few seasons, he has had loan spells at Reading, Watford and of course Bournemouth. But with him being recalled mid-season, it could be that Conte has some big plans for the player going into this crucial stage of the campaign.

Chelsea are currently five points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table and look on course to secure their second Premier League trophy in three seasons. Nathan Ake could now have a huge part to play in Chelsea’s season and securing the Premier League come to the end of May.
