Pablo Carreno-Busta vs Gilles Muller betting tips and odds

ATP Australian Open - R3

Kick-off: 00:00 AM UK time

Pablo Carreno-Busta has lost his first game of the year at the hands of Coric in the first round of the Doha tournament. However, the Spaniard have won four consecutive games since then, including two exhibition matches at Kooyong. Pablo kicked off the Aussie Open with a 3-1 win against Kubler in the opening round and followed this up with a 1-0 victory over Gilles Simon yesterday. He won the first set 6-2 and had a 3-0 lead in the second set, when the French player decided to withdraw due to an injury.

Meanwhile, Gilles Muller has been in mixed shape in this early part of 2018, winning three and losing two of his five games on the hard surface. Muller have been eliminated from the first round of the Brisbane tournament in the first match of the year and only managed to reach the second round at Sydney. Muller looked much better at Melbourne as he kicked off the Aussie Open with a 0-3 win against Delbonis. However, Muller had a much difficult tie yesterday as he beat Malek Jaziri in five sets, despite the fact he had a two-sets lead.

Pablo Carreno-Busta looked a bit better than Gilles Muller in this early part of the year and we expect him to qualify into the next round. In addition, Pablo Carreno-Busta has only played 46 minutes yesterday while Muller over 4 hours.

Ryan Harrison vs Marin Cilic betting predictions and tips

ATP Australian Open - R3

Kick-off: 05:00 AM UK time

Ryan Harrison’s record on the hard surface in this early part of the season have been impressive, as they won six of his seven matches. Harrison have reached the final in Brisbane where he eventually lost at the hands of Nick Kyrgios in two straight sets. Harrison was lucky to beat Dudi Sela 2-3 in the opening round here in Melbourne, but then managed a comfortable 0-3 victory over Pablo Cuevas on the second round. The bad news is that Harrison have only won one of his six meetings with Marin Cilic.

Marin Cilic, on the other hand, won four and lost two of his six fixtures on the hard surface in this early part of 2018. Cilic suffered an unexpected 2-1 defeat at the hands of Gilles Simon in the Semi-finals of the Pune tournament and then lost 1-2 against Ebden in an exhibition tie at Kooyong. The Croat have only dropped one set in the first two rounds here in Melbourne, registering back-to-back wins against Vasek Pospisil and Joao Sousa. Cilic have won five of his six meetings with Harrison, including a 2-0 victory in Tokyo back in October.

Marin Cilic have only dropped one set in his last five meetings with Ryan Harrison and we expect him to secure another straight victory here.

Elise Mertens v Alize Cornet tips and match predictions

WTA Australian Open - R3

Kick-off: 02:00 AM UK time

Elise Mertens’ recent run of form have been terrific as she head into this tie on the back of a nine-game winning streak. Mertens has already won a trophy this year after winning 1-2 against Mihaela Buzarnescu in the final of the Hobart tournament five days ago. Furthermore, Mertens started the Australian Open brightly with back-to-back 2-0 victories against Kuzmova and Gavrilova. She looked incredibly solid against Gavrilova yesterday and she will be looking to book her place in the quarter-finals.

Alize Cornet, on the other hand, have been up and down in this early part of the year. After two consecutive wins at Brisbane, she lost 1-2 against Sasnovich and the she was eliminated from the first round of the Hobart tournament following a 0-2 loss against Buzarnescu. However, the French player is yet to drop a single set in Melbourne as she picked up back-to-back 2-0 wins against Wang and Goerges. Cornet’s performance at the Australian Open last year have been poor as she was eliminated from the second round following a 1-2 loss at the hands of Maria Sakkari.

Elise Mertens have been in excellent shape in this early part of the year and we fancy her to secure a comfortable win here.

Betting predictions and tips: Handicap -3.5 games on Elise Mertens at odds 5/6 with William Hill

Katerina Bondarenko vs Magdalena Rybarikova betting odds and tips

WTA Australian Open - R3

Kick-off: 03:30 AM UK time

Katerina Bondarenko have won three matches at Brisbane, including qualifying fixtures before losing to Catherine Bellis in the round of 32. Then, she participated at the Sydney tournament where she suffered an unexpected 1-2 loss against Cepede in the second round. Bondarenko had a difficult match against Golubic in the opening round of the Australian Open, but she eventually managed to win 1-2. However, she looked much better against Pavlyuchenkova yesterday, dropping just five sets in this term.

Magdalena Rybarikova, on the flip side, have only played three games in this early part of the year. She have been eliminated from the first round of the Sydney tournament, but she bounced back with two consecutive wins here in Melbourne. Rybarikova managed to beat Townsend 2-0 in the opening round and followed this up with a three-set win against Flipkens yesterday. The bad news is that Rybarikova have lost her last two meetings with Bondarenko on the hard surface, without winning a single set in the process.

Both players have struggled for fluency throughout this early part of the year, so we expect an entertaining affair here.
