Roger Federer will be looking for her 20th Grand Slam title when he takes on Marin Cilic on Sunday morning at the Australian Open 2018 Final. This is actually a re-match of the last year’s Wimbledon Final when Roger Federer won his 8th Wimbledon title.

Marin Cilic will be looking to win his only 2nd Grand Slam title after he won the US Open back in 2014. His best performance at Melbourne until this year was in 2010 when he managed to reach the Semi-finals. Marin Cilic have won six games in a row here in Melbourne so far, losing just three sets in the process. Cilic beat Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals, although the Spaniard withdrew due to injury in the deciding set. Then, the Croat overcame Kyle Edmund in straight sets in the Semi-finals, in a match which took just 29 games to decide. Cilic won 90% of his first serve points and 56% of his second serve points. Overall, he dropped just five of 50 first serve points and won a decent 38% of his return points. Cilic is 1-1 in his career in Grand Slam final appearances and is 14-7 in final appearances on hard court overall.
Roger Federer predictions and tips
On the other hand, Roger Federer have won 19 of his last 20 games on the hard surface and enter the fray on the back of a ten-game winning streak. Federer has been in sublime form here at Melbourne so far, as he is yet to drop a single set after six games. He beat Berdych in straight sets in the quarter-finals and then was winning in the Semi-finals against Chung, when the Korean was forced to retire in the second set through injury. Federer lost just one service point in his win over Chung and gave himself 11 break opportunities before the Korean retired. The Swiss will now look for his 20th Grand Slam title and his sixth here at Melbourne. Roger is 65-24 in his career in final appearances on hard court. Head-to-head, Federer have won eight of his nine meetings with Cilic across all competitions, dropping just six sets in the process.
Betting predictions and tips
Cilic is always a treat given his big serve and he definitely can put some problems to Roger Federer. However, the Swiss have been impeccable over the past year and a half and we can’t see Cilic getting something from this clash.
