Arsenal offer Alexis Sanchez improved £300,000-a-week contract extension
Arsenal will be looking to end Alexis Sanchez saga as they have offered the Chilean International a new contract worth £300,000 per week. It’s already well-known that Sanchez has entered the final twelve months of his current deal with the Gunners and he has previously turned down a £225,000-a-week contract offer. The Chilean winger made it clear at that moment that he wants upwards of £300,000 before even considering agreeing fresh term. It remains to be seen whether new offer will be enough, although it represents an impressive pay rise on his current £160,000 deal. Actually, he will become the Premier League’s highest paid player if he accepts the new deal.
Alexis Sanchez has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain both looking to sign the Chile’s striker. Gunners’ manager Arsene Wenger is confident that Alexis will stay at the club until the end of his current contract, although he was not that optimistic about the Chilean’s future after the end of the contract.
In an interview with SFR Sport 1, Arsene Wenger said “He’s an Arsenal player in the short term. Now, will we manage to extend his contract?
“We didn’t manage to do that last season so I’m not super optimistic in that regard, but we have the firm intention of not selling him.”
As for Alexis Sanchez, he will miss Arsenal’s home opener against Leicester City on Friday as well as the trip to Stoke City the following weekend due to an abdominal strain.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mesut Ozil are also out of contract at the end of the season, although according to reports, Ozil is very close to signing a new deal worth £225,000-per-week. Feel free to check out our latest news, predictions and our best betting tips.
