2018 ATP Brisbane International Betting tips and predictions
Rafael Nadal has confirmed his participation at the 2018 ATP Brisbane International despite the fact he was forced to withdraw from the Nitto ATP Finals with a knee injury few weeks ago. The Spaniard is yet to win a title here in Brisbane and last year he was eliminated in the quarter-finals following a defeat at the hands of Milos Raonic. However, Rafael Nadal had a solid year in 2017, winning two Grand Slam titles at the French and US Opens, along with two Masters in Monte-Carlo and Madrid.
Prediction: Rafael Nadal to reach the Semi-finals
Andy Murray is a player that has struggled with injuries for the second half of 2017 and actually, Brisbane will be his first official tournament since Wimbledon. His last fixture was a charity game against Roger Federer back in November. Andy Murray has won the Brisbane tournament on two occasions back in 2012 and 2013 and he is currently on a nine-game winning streak here.
Prediction: Andy Murray to reach the Final
Defending champion Grigor Dimitrov has also confirmed his participation at the tournament and will be looking to win back-to-back Brisbane titles at the first attempt. Dimitrov had a sensation year in 2017, winning the Cincinnati Masters and the ATP World Tour Finals. He started with the Brisbane tournament and also managed to reach the Australian Open Semi-finals.
Prediction: Grigor Dimitrov to lift the trophy
2018 WTA Brisbane International Betting tips and predictions
Karolina Pliskova is the defending champion after beating Alize Cornet in the final last season. She is yet to win a single Grand Slam in her career, but managed to reach a World No.1 career high in July. Her best performance in 2017 was reaching the French Open Semi-final and was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the US Open. Pliskova has also reached the Semi-finals of the WTA Finals for the first time, but suffered a straight defeat at the hands of Caroline Wozniacki.
Prediction: Karolina Pliskova to win the title
Sloane Stephens has been one of the biggest surprises of 2017, as after almost a year on the sidelines with injuries, she produced an amazing run to lift her first Grand Slam title as she won the US Open. She is now back on top 15 in the WTA rankings and I’m confident that she will be looking to build on her 2017 performances.
Prediction: Sloane Stephens to reach the Semi-finals
Garbine Muguruza had a similar year as Karolina Pliskova, as she has also reached the first position in the WTA rankings. The only difference between her and Pliskova is that Garbine managed to win a Grand Slam title in 2017, as she was crowned champion at Wimbledon. She has also won the Cincinnati title, but finished 2017 as the No. 2 player in the World.
Prediction: Garbine Muguruza to reach the Final
