Kilmarnock vs Ross County Predictions, Betting Tips, and Preview

By Bharath Ramm R

Kilmarnock entered into contention for the fourth spot after a 2-0 win over St Johnstone at the Rugby Park. The Killie were awarded a 34th minute penalty and it was converted in style by Kris Boyd. Jason Kerr was sent off just before half-time and this provided Kilmarnock with the impetus to get the second goal, which came through Lee Erwin in the 58th minute. Ross County had to take a break last weekend due to their game being called off, but the club’s latest SPL outing saw them suffer a 2-0 loss against St Johnstone. Murray Davidson came up with goals in both matches to get a win. Craig Curran was sent off for his involvement in a scuffle towards the end of the match.

Here we have our SBAT match preview with all the best predictions, betting tips and match stats.

Betting Tips and Predictions

Ross County had to undergo yet another managerial change. Teams generally do not do well when they go through several managerial changes in a single campaign. Meanwhile, Kilmarnock are experiencing a surge of stability and form under Steve Clarke. The Killie are now eyeing a top-four finish, but they are also available at a very attractive price for a victory in this game. Kilmarnock are aiming for a second consecutive home win over Ross County after managing a 1-0 win in the meeting back in January. I would back a win for Kilmarnock. The struggles with regard to scoring goals undoubtedly played a part in Coyle’s exit. Ross County’s job of scoring this weekend is even tougher, as Kilmarnock have conceded only five goals in the last six home games. I would back a clean sheet for Kilmarnock.

Kilmarnock win – 1/1

Kilmarnock clean sheet – 6/4

Kilmarnock Preview

Steve Clarke continues to hit new heights with his Kilmarnock team. The outfits were going to a terrible run of form when they brought in the Scottish defender in the middle of the campaign. Since then, Kilmarnock have been going through a strong run of form – especially over the last three months. The club are now up to fifth in the table with a strong possibility of catching up Hibernian in the fourth place. After the weekend results, Kilmarnock were able to go six matches without a defeat in the league. Kris Boyd extended his goal tally even further after netting the opening goal against St Johnstone in the midweek action.

Ross County Preview

Ross County have had a fortnight absence from football and interim manager Kettlewell has had a lot of time to prepare for this game. After having gone through a poor run of form up until now, Ross County are aiming for a massive upturn due to the influx of new ideas. Stuart Kettlewell has been appointed as the interim coach, as Ross County try to recover from Owen Coyle’s era. The key job for the 33-year-old coach will be to ramp up the form just in time to avoid the drop.

Ross County News

Greg Tansey (groin) and Sean Kelly (knee) are the names missing from action for Ross County.
